Want to do something to help stop global warming? Here are 10 simple things you can do and how much carbon dioxide you'll save doing them.

- Drive less Walk, bike, carpool, and plan trips (1 lb/mile)
- Recycle more Recycle half your household trash (2,400 lbs/year)
- Check your tires Proper inflation improves gas mileage 3% (20 lbs/year/gal)
- Use less hot water Low flow showerhead; cold water laundry (350-500 lbs/year)
- Avoid products with a lot of packaging Cut down your trash by 10% (1,200 lbs/year)
- Adjust your thermostat Down 2° in winter, up 2° in summer (2,000 lbs/year)
- Plant a tree One tree absorbs 2,000 lbs/life
- Turn off electronic devices Turn off the TV, DVD player, stereo and computer when not in use (2,000+ lbs/year)
