Groton Local is a non-profit organization working to reduce energy consumption, promote local food & economy, and to ensure that our planet is sustainable for future generations by becoming locally self reliant.
Who is Groton Local?
Groton Local emerged over four years ago out of a reading group in which residents came together to read books primarily pertaining to environmental concerns. Out of this shared experience, participants were inspired to create an organization that might create local solutions to some of these global issues.
What does Groton Local do?
Within Groton Local groups have existed to focus on different issues all pertaining to the notion of local solutions to global issues. Groton Local works to strengthen our community and its sustainability through educational seminars, movie screenings, action-based projects, members’ meetings, news articles, and more. In addition, Groton Local supports local businesses and collaborates with other organizations.
